Design for new Port House

Famous top international architect Zaha Hadid won the commission for the new building of the Antwerp Port Authority. Hadid's futuristic plan was selected from a shortlist of unique proposals. The spectacular modern design of the building is based on the shape of a ship and shines as a diamond. The future headquarters of the Port Authority will be designed by her London-based architect's firm. The new Port House will include a mixture of historical and contemporary elements as a modern element will be added on the rooftop of the exiting historical building along quay 63. The new structure should be ready by 2013.
