Vyne

Vyne is on the Prinsengracht and is a wine bar with cool interior design. If you order by the glass, there are 24 different sorts of wine; if you order by the bottle, the choice is even bigger. One of the walls in this small place is nearly totally stacked with bottles of wine. Opposite, there are high cognac-coloured leather settees against oak-panelled walls, looking rather like a wine cask. Besides the marvellous wines there is fantastic finger food such as smoked eel with beetroot, a bisque of Dutch shrimps or chicken legs prepared with soya and ginger. Not surprising then that Vyne is frequented by classy foodies.
