This restaurant -which excels in both an utter lack of attitude and pretentions, as well as in offering moderately priced fine food- is a must for every visitor. Jam is located near the Conscienceplein, which in itself is only a few steps away from Our Lady's Cathedral. In short: you'll be dining (or lunching) in the very heart of Antwerp. The interior design is tight, with lots of wood and some fine design ideas. The place also has a terrace which is just fine, but not quite as fine as it could be in summer. They have quite a few vegetarian dishes on offer, but also have non-veggie food such as seafood, an excellent Ceasar Salad, an extraordinary lasagna, a goat cheese salad and so on. Jam also offers home-made ice-tea, which is pretty much obvious Stateside, but remains a rarity in Europe, where most bars and restaurants will instead offer you a can or a bottle. In short: pump up the Jam!
