De Grootte Ganz - Pelgrom
One of Antwerp's most historic drinking and eating places is located in a small old cobblestone street in the historic city centre near the cathedral. The De Grootte Ganz - Pelgrom restaurant/bar is housed in authentic 15th century cellars that initially were used by merchants as a storage place. The cellars are interconnected so plenty of room and tables to have a drink or meal. The wooden furniture refers to the Middle Ages and the cellars are only lit by candles. The soft classical music in the background is a real treat to the ears and the waiters and waitresses are dressed in garments of Breugel's time. Push the heavy oak door, walk through and go down the stairs to enjoy a typical Belgian cool beer!
