Fifties Silver: Belgian silver around 1958
Until January 18, 2009, the Silver Museum at Sterckshof offers a shining overview of modern Belgian silverworks between 1950 and 1970. Profane and religious pieces, industrial and artistic silverworks, as well as jewels and serial objects. Some of the most prestigious pieces of the exhibition are borrowed from the Belgian royal collection. The different objects are presented in their original context, either literally or through multimedia, and are often displayed with specially selected furniture. By the way, the permanent collection covers no less than six centuries. The Silver Museum is located in a beautiful garden palace just outside the city, so if the weather allows it, take a refreshing stroll in the park and enjoy the splendours of nature.
