Eastern Harbour Area
The Eastern Harbour Area has been developed since the seventies from a harbour site to a highly popular residential area with superb and diverse architecture. The district even became an important tourist stop: architecture tourists and everybody else enjoy the site. The islands in the Eastern Harbour Area offer a lot of examples of modern architecture, amongst which the large building blocks ‘Piraeus’, ‘the Whale’ and ‘Barcelona’. This is all mixed with old and characteristic buildings like Loods 6. In this area are also a lot of design and interior design shops such as Sissy-Boy Homeland, Pols Potten and Keet in Huis.
