Liberation Day

On the fifth of May, the Dutch are celebrating their liberation from the German occupation in World War II. On various places in the city and metropolitan area there are parties and concerts. During this day the entire Museumplein terrain will be dedicated to the celebration of freedom and liberation. Highlights include theatre performances in tents above the Museumplein pond. The festival will conclude with a concert on the Amstel.
