The great operas return to Valencia
The Palau de les Arts, the meeting place for music lovers, has come up with an intriguing programme of operas from the mid-19th and early 20th centuries for its fourth season which starts up with a pair of magnificent works.
On October 31, the curtain will rise on the production of Les Troyens, the work based on Virgil's Aeneid by French composer Hector Berlioz, audiences will be treated to the moving Madame Butterfly by the great Giacomo Puccini starting on 9 December.
Following them will be the clever classic La vida breve, by Manuel de Falla, and Una cosa rara by Valencia's native son Vicente Martin i Soler. The programme will climax with the production of Italian maestro Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece, La Traviata. The Palau de les Arts also offer multiple activities and other concerts in the four performance halls making up this icon of music performance in Valencia.
