The Virgin's most sensual cloak
The most emotional moment of the Fallas festival is undoubtedly the Ofrenda de Flores (Flower Offering to the Virgin), where more than 140,000 Falleros join in a parade before the city’s patron city, Our Lady of the Forsaken, and leave their bouquets at her feet. This emotional event, full of tears and hope, is held in Plaza de la Virgen. The Virgin’s ‘dressers’ take the bouquets and arrange them in the wooden structure to form a magnificent cloak made up of 40 tonnes of flowers. A veritable pleasure for the senses, and a truly unforgettable sight.
