NATIVE SON JOAQUÍN SOROLLA COMES HOME

NATIVE SON JOAQUÍN SOROLLA COMES HOME

The spectacular canvases of the ambassador of Valencia painting, Joaquín Sorolla, return to Valencia after a long, successful tour of various Spanish cities. The individual “Visión de España” of this master of light is on exhibit at the Centro Cultural Bancaja from 1 October to 10 January. The 14 canvases making up the collection portray Spanish culture at the beginning of the 20th century and were commissioned by Archer Milton Huntington in 1912. This master work, already seen by over 1.5 million visitors, will be joined by 50 more canvases painted by the Valencia-born artist, including "Sol de la Tarde" and "Triste Herencia". This will be the last chance to visit this unique exhibition, as it will return to walls of the Hispanic Society of America in New York in January.
