VALENCIA, THE BEST SEA FOR THE 33 AMERICA 'S
The 33rd edition of the America's Cup will start on February 8th in Valencian waters. The organisers of the oldest sailing event in the world have once more put their trust in a city that has demonstrated its organizational capacity for large-scale events. On this occasion, the exciting duel will be held between the Swiss Alinghi and North American BMW Oracle teams, who will sail the Mediterranean Sea aboard unique catamarans measuring up to 30 metres high to the delight both of yachting fans and of those who enjoy following large-scale events. Valencia has the necessary infrastructure, as demonstrated by the team bases created for the last edition and the stunning guest complex, Veles e Vents, designed by British architect David Chipperfield in collaboration with Spain’s Fermín Vázquez. Additionally, the marina has more than 600 moorings for 10- to 150-metre vessels offering views of the yachts entering and leaving the harbour. And beside the harbour, the Malvarrosa and Arenas beaches offer restaurants and hotels that offer the perfect location from which to enjoy the races.
