Rubens examined. La furia del pennello
Since 2007, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp has – with the support of the Getty Foundation – been conducting extensive research on the paintings in its unique Rubens collection. Every year, the research findings are presented to the public during an exhibition and in a publication. In the previous two editions, the spotlight was on individual paintings, namely The Prodigal Son and The Adoration of the Magi. This year’s publication focuses on Rubens’ virtuoso painting technique. His furia del pennello or fury of the brush, is often mentioned, but not often fully understood. In the galleries of the KMSKA, visitors can learn more about the Master’s exceptional painterly approach.
Event starts February 13, 2010 and ends April 4, 2010
