Beyer Chronometrie: Keeping Up With The Times for 250 Years
Beyer Chronometrie on Zürich’s Bahnhofstrasse is the oldest watch shop in Switzerland. The family business, currently owned by the seventh generation, has shown impeccable timing during the past 250 years. Today, Beyer is considered one of the leading names worldwide in luxury watches. Well-to-do customers can peruse an extensive range of leading brands at Beyer, including Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC and Rolex. The company is also known for its own superb jewelry creations and it has earned an excellent reputation for its diamond solitaires. Beyer has launched an anniversary watch and an elegant line of jewelry created in its own workshop to celebrate its 250th anniversary year.
The Clock and Watch Museum Beyer Zürich is located in the lower level of the shop premises on Bahnhofstrasse, where around 500 exhibits, from 1400 BC right up to today, are on display.
For until 15 October, the museum is presenting one of the most fascinating historical clock and watch exhibitions in Switzerland entitled “How times change, 1760 – 2010”.
