Sunsets Filmfestival

Already 22 years Sunsets is the outdoor movie event in Amsterdam. Each Friday in the summer months EYE Film Institute Netherlands and cafe-restaurant Vertigo present outdoor performances on the shady terrace of the Vondelpark Pavilion. Vondelpark at sunset is the perfect spot for a giant screen, with highlights from film history. From July 16th you can enjoy timeless slapstick, modern animation films and the best Hollywood classics.

During the shows there will be snacks and drinks available, consistent with the style of the movies. What do you think of an Irish music film with a fine glass of stout? Or do you prefer a cup of coffee with apple pie during the hilarious Danish grotesqueness Adam's Apples? On July the 16th Sunset will take the biscuit: The slapstick classic Sherlock Jr. (1924) by Buster Keaton, the master of the silent film, will be accompanied on a concert piano from the year 1897.
