It is no longer a rarity to find the Bernese in Zurich. But this one is unique: the Bernese Kitchener Plus concept store recently became a welcome new addition to the redesigned viaduct arches in Zurich's 5th district. In its hometown on the river Aare, the shop has long been known for its ability to track down innovative, cool fashion designs that are still making the same impact next season. And now all this is available in Zurich. Instead of fly-by-night fads, visitors to Kitchener Plus find classics and basics that incorporate a good dose of zeitgeist. The fascinating mix includes labels such as Filipa K, Acne, Woolrich, Bellrose and Velvet – as well as up-and-coming names like Humanoid, NN07, Idiom, Epice Shawls, Michael Stars and Just In Case, together with design by Arena Copenhagen, Saskia Diez and Toujours Toi. Vases and bowls created by the Berne-based pottery Linck Keramik or top-quality care products and cosmetics by Susanne Kaufmann round off the extensive range. Kitchener Plus has been present in Berne for more than 5 years. The concept store has its origins in the Kitchener boutique which has numbered among Berne's top venues for street and sportswear for an impressive 43 years. And now, to everyone's delight, an original Bernese institution has found its place in Zurich's historic viaduct arches district.
