Vienna Art Week

Everything in Vienna revolves around art for an entire week. "Vienna Art Week" offers a packed program from 14 – 20 November 2011. Museums, art halls and galleries, not to mention many internationally acknowledged artists, have in recent years pushed Vienna to the center of the international art radar.

For a number of years, "Vienna Art Week" has contributed to a strengthening of this trend. It brings international museum directors, curators, collectors and critics together with personalities from Vienna's art scene. Tours of special exhibitions and show collections, city tours to art works in the public domain, visits to the studios of artists, architects, designers and fashion-makers, exhibition openings, performances, talks with artists and collectors, lectures and discussions on issues of contemporary art and architecture create a stimulating and creative ambience for networking, exchanging ideas and procurement. With over 100 separate events, "Vienna Art Week" is the biggest annual event on art in Vienna, from the Baroque to the present day.

Under the motto "Reflecting Reality", Vienna Art Week 2011 is expanding its format with interdisciplinary communication strategies, which are concerned with the exchange of "Art and Science" and direct the focus onto Vienna's world standing as a city of psychoanalysis.
