Wiener Werkstätte and Belgian Silver Design
Following on previous successful projects relating to Belgian and European silver from the art nouveau and art deco periods, the Province of Antwerp Sterckshof Silver Museum is now organizing an exhibition about Wiener Werkstätte silver.
Wiener Werkstätte (which translates as ‘Viennese Workshops’) was founded in 1903 by architect Josef Hoffmann (1870–1956) and artist-painter Koloman Moser 1869–1918). Private collectors and museums at home and abroad (including Austria, Germany and the Netherlands) have contributed to this exhibition, which shows Belgian silver in an international context.
Event starts September 14, 2010 and ends December 12, 2010
