Aida raises the curtain on Palau de les Arts

El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia launches its 5^th season on November 13th with the opera Aida, by the Italian master Giuseppe Verdi. Spectators will witness how Aida, an Ethiopian slave, falls in love with the Egyptian commander Radames, against the wishes of her father, Amonasro, king of Ethiopia. Aida is also faced by the Pharaoh's daughter, Amneris, who in turn is in love with the commander and who tries to stand between them. The protagonist of this drama will become entangled in a struggle between love and her patriotic duty as Ethiopian, as the triumph of love will lead to the defeat of her beloved father. The cast of the work, which is comprised of four acts, includes artists such as Marco Spotti, Daniela Barcellona and Marcelo Álvarez, among others.
