The AVE arrives in Valencia
Now you can travel by AVE from Madrid to Valencia in the time it takes Valencia CF to play a football match against Real Madrid. With 15 daily departures between 7.10 am and 9.40 pm, tickets for the new high-speed train can be purchased at supersaver estrella rates, starting at €31.60 for economy class and ranging up to €143.70 for first class. The new Joaquín Sorolla station is well connected by shuttle bus to the Estación del Norte, from where passengers can catch a number of local trains. It is also connected by metro to the port and airport, and to the city centre via bus. The easiest, quickest and most convenient way to travel around the city is by purchasing a VALENCIA TOURIST CARD (www.valenciatouristcard.com) from the newly opened Tourist-Info Joaquín Sorolla or from the 24-hour vending machine located in the vestibule of the new station. There are three types of card available: 24 hour, 48 hour and 72 hour, priced at €12, €18 and €22, respectively.
