Valencia wins prize for the video of the year
Entered into The Golden City Gate awards by the Valencia Tourism Foundation, the Valencia en 3D video has come out on top in the ‘Innovations’ category. The awards, presented as part of the ITB Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin, represent the most eminent international recognition that can be given to tourist videos.
It's not the first time that the city of Valencia has been the recipient of one of these prizes. In 2009, its cinema and television ad, Valencia, Incredible but True, won The Golden City Gate award for ‘Best Tourist Advertisement’.
A total of 63 international destinations competed in this prestigious competition, which awards prizes in 11 different categories, such as ‘Website’, ‘Print Campaigns, ‘TV-Cinema-Spot’, and ‘Innovations’. The judging panel, made up of more than 30 high-profile representatives from the tourism sector and various institutions, had the task of deliberating over three finalists that had been entered into the ‘Innovation’ category. Finally, the Valencia video triumphed over the entries from South Africa and Germany.
The Foundation will be screening the video at the fairs and competitions it attends, and it can also be seen online, on its own microsite: www.turisvalencia.es/vlc3d (we recommend clicking on full screen mode), as well as on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e8Q344IQS0&feature=channel_video_title, and various social networks.
