TOSCA and FIDELIO in the Palau de les Arts
The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía has programmed a fantastic line-up to celebrate the 4th Festival del Mediterrani. Opera enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Tosca, by extraordinary Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, and Fidelio, by the great Ludwig van Beethoven, in the Palau between 28 May and 26 June. Both operas will be conducted under the sublime hand of maestro Zubin Mehta, who will delight an expected crowd of over 11,000 with six performances of Tosca (28 and 31 May, and 4, 7, 10 and 13 June) and five performances of Fidelio (5, 8, 11, 22 and 26 June). What's more, Mehta will also be conducting Mahler’s, Symphony No. 3 in D minor on 12 June, while Georges Prêtre will lead performances of the spectacular works of Ottorino Respighi, on 17, 18 and 19 June.
