A very musical autumn in Valencia

Autumn has arrived, and with it some great music. The ‘Valencian Coliseum’, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, is launching its sixth season on 5 November with the opera Boris Godunov, by the composer Modest Mussorgsky. The subsequent line-up includes Roméo et Juliette, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Tosca, by the great Puccini. The Palau de la Música has a varied programme in store too, with both symphonic concerts and performances from artists such as Mónica Naranjo and Antonio Orozco, as well as the great Chinese pianist Lang Lang. Valencia is also set to receive some accomplished soloists. On 21 October there’s a treat in store for both cinema and music lovers in the form of a concert from the renowned Michael Nyman, who composed the sound track to the film The Piano, while on 3 November, the Valencia Conference Centre will play host to the charismatic Raphael.
