Oudaan
This remarkable building, which dominates the skyline of central Antwerp, is locally known as the 'Oudaan tower' (because of the address) or the 'police tower' (for obvious reasons). The tower was designed by Renaat Braem -generally acknowledged as the most important figurehead of contemporary Belgian architecture- and built between 1952 and 1967. Its original designation was to house several administrative services of the city, but before long the police settled in and the tower remains their local HQ until today.
