Stadelhofen Railway Station

The building at the heart of this municipal railway station is the classical construction erected by Wülfke (1894). The famous Spanish, but Zürich resident, architect Santiago Calatrava added a futuristic-style masterpiece around the original building and realized the city railroad station in Stadelhofen between 1986 and 1990. The spectacular building out of arched steel girders and concrete pillars seems to be massive and light at the same time.
