Ice skating rink

Christmas in Antwerp is always very much ho-ho-ho. So from now on, expect frequent updates on that. For starters, each year, the local authorities put an actual open-air ice skating rink on the Grote Markt, which is smack in the heart of the old centre. For a token fee you get to hire your own pair of skates and you can then skate your heart out with the medieval Guild Houses, the Town Hall and of course the magnificent Our Lady's Cathedral as a backdrop. And yes, an ample supply of glühwein (heated wine with spices) will available afterwards so that you can defrost.
