A very cosy yet spacious cafe located in the Zurenborg district of Antwerp, of which the internationally famous Cogels-Osylei -a street lined by grand art nouveau houses / castles- is a part. This bar has been around for decades and its clientele features locals as well as people from other parts of town, including several local celebrities and artists.
The cafe is mostly known for its atmosphere and its huge selection of Belgian beers (they have a different rare beer straight from the barrel each month). They also have a fairly small, but exquisite tapas bar. The nice thing is that there's also a fine restaurant called 'Hoorn des Overvloeds' ('Horn of Plenty') on the first floor with whom the bar has an agreement.
So you can make a reservation there, have a drink (and a tapa) downstairs and as soon as your table is free, you will be politely summoned to take your seat in the restaurant. The bar also organises concerts from time to time and their huge summer terrace is famous throughout Antwerp.
