Christmas choirs

As it is a city in a Catholic country, Christmas is being celebrated to the utmost in Antwerp. Apart from the Christmas fairs, the religious celebrations, the ridiculous amounts of money spent on gifts and so on, there are also plenty of choirs singing carols, gospels and/or other songs of the season. Those performances often take place in famous churches like Our Lady's Cathedral and the baroque Carolus-Borromeus Church (a very apt name, isn't it?) and you should at least try to see one of them when you're in town. But as choir-singing is a very popular pastime in Belgium, you will also find quite a few excellent amateur choirs in the centre of Antwerp, singing their heart out in open air. And if your feet -or other limbs- start to get numb while listening to those angel-voiced singers, why not retreat to a nearby stall for a quick shot of gluhwein?
