Rainbow Parade and Vienna Pride

More than 100,000 dance fans will line the Ringstrasse boulevard in anticipation of a wild party, the 13th Rainbow Parade. On flatbed trucks, motorbikes or on foot, drag queens, leather boys and lesbians in outlandish outfits will start at the Stadtpark and make their way around the Ringstrasse, which will be closed to normal traffic. The parade will travel in a counterclockwise direction - the opposite to normal traffic. Prior to the event the Vienna scene will adopt the theme Vienna Pride. Community groups and organizations, gay and lesbian businesspeople, club owners and promoters will stage exhibitions, drag shows, cultural programs and parties. / Copyright: Robert Osmark
